Arrived in JO73CF at 15 utc. First test with DF2CK, QSO at 16.01 UTC, weak but good. Later, after antenna optimation 519/549. Also worked OK1JKT, DL4DTU and DL3VTA. DJ1KP and OZ1CTZ was nil. No one else wanted to sked.

Arrived in JO74AA at 10 utc. Took a room in a guest house in Loddin. This will be my base for the operations from JO64 and JO74 in the next days. Its hard to find a good QTH in JO74, either takeoff is blocked by trees or its a restricted natural reserve or both. The good news: since both Locator touch together, its easy to qsy between JO64 and 74.

Today during noon tested with DM2AFN, DL4WO and DF2CK. They were portable from a local hill. No sigs were copied, they had problems with wind and rain. |
Weather was very bad for 10 GHz operations today. Strong wind mixed with rain and thunder. At 14:30 I was QRV from JO74AA, worked DF2CK and DM2AFN. Signals were weaker then yesterday. Later I changed QTH to JO64XB. Tested with DF2CK when ever wx permitted. We managed to make QSO at 15:17 UTC. After this I went back to Loddin in JO74AA and spent an hour for dinner. At 16.45 UTC WX was good enough again to get QRV. Worked DL7VTX, DL4DTU, DL1SUN and DL1SUZ. Tested with DF2CK many times to look for possible SCP, hrd him tropo 539 and sometime via light scatter from 175 deg. Seem that Clouds were low. Tried to QSO with DL3YEE, DG1VL and OK1JKT but nil, sorry. At 19 UTC I finished, no more sigs to hear and very cold wind from the sea. Try to be QRV again tomorrow morning. At 12 UTC I will leave the QTH and head back home. |
